Life Is Adventure: Navigating the Chaos with Laughter, Love, and a Little ADHD
From Norway to New York and Back Again
I grew up in Norway, a land of fjords, midnight sun, and the kind of calm that almost makes you forget that chaos exists. But then, in a twist worthy of a sitcom plot, I packed my bags and moved to New York City—a place where calm is something you read about in books and the pace of life could give you whiplash. 🗽
I spent 12 years in the Big Apple, trying to keep up with the hustle and bustle. And let’s just say it turned out to be a total fiasco. But hey, even fiascos are adventures, right? My daughter grew up there, and we experienced all the highs and lows that come with city life. But after a while, it was time to pack up and head back to Norway, where I could catch my breath and maybe even see the stars at night again.
A Stroke of Reality at 36
Life didn’t slow down just because I changed continents. At 36, I had a stroke. Yep, that was a plot twist I didn’t see coming. It was like life’s way of saying, “Hey, remember to take care of yourself!” But, in true adventurer spirit, I got through it, and it’s just another chapter in my life story. It’s also a reminder that life’s adventures aren’t always the ones we choose, but they’re the ones that shape us.
ADHD and the Never-Ending To-Do List
I’ve got a lot of passions—photography, sewing, drawing, painting, journaling, ceramics—you name it. 🎨 But thanks to my ADHD, most of these projects end up as half-finished masterpieces. My house is basically a museum of hobbies that never quite got completed.
But that’s okay! My mind is always buzzing with ideas, even if my hands can’t keep up. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I might never finish anything, but at least I’m never bored. And let’s be honest, who needs finished projects when you can have a house full of creative potential?
People: The Good, The Bad, and The Completely Baffling
One of my favorite pastimes is people-watching—analyzing what makes them tick, what triggers them, and why humans can sometimes be the absolute worst species on this planet. 🧐 Living in New York was like a never-ending buffet of human behavior. There’s something fascinating about the way people react to the world around them, and I love dissecting those little moments of humanity.
Sometimes I wonder why people are the way they are, but then I remember that life is messy and complicated, and that’s what makes it interesting. Besides, if everyone were perfect, what would I talk about?
Dreaming Big: The Online Affiliate Marketing Journey
These days, my biggest goal is to create an income from online affiliate marketing. It’s like trying to solve a puzzle with pieces that keep changing shape, but I’m determined to figure it out. 💻 I’ve always believed that life is about growth and learning, which is why I’m currently enrolled in a one-year University-level Library and Information Science program. Because why not add a little more adventure to the mix?
I dream of the day when I can look back and say, “I did it!”—when I’ve cracked the code of online income and can finally enjoy the fruits of my labor. Until then, I’ll keep plugging away, learning as I go, and trying not to get too distracted by shiny new hobbies.
Embracing the Adventure
So, here I am, a mother, a dreamer, a survivor, and an adventurer. Life might not be perfect—let’s be honest, it’s more of a beautiful mess—but it’s mine, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. 🚀
Every day is an opportunity to learn something new, laugh at the absurdity of it all, and keep pushing forward, even if that means dragging along a few unfinished projects and untamed dreams. Life is an adventure, and while I may not have a map or a clear destination, I’m loving the journey. After all, it’s the detours, the surprises, and the unplanned stops that make the ride worthwhile.
So here’s to the chaos, the laughter, the mishaps, and the moments of pure joy that make life the greatest adventure of all. And if I ever get around to finishing something, you’ll be the first to know! 😉
