New Year’s Eve, Klarna Chaos, and a Turkey That Didn’t Disappoint 🎉
Welcome to 2025, my friends! 🎉 The year kicked off with a bang—and by “bang,” I mean a chaotic little Klarna situation. You see, I had one of those deep, self-reflective end-of-year chats with myself where I vowed to be more responsible. “This is it,” I told myself. “2025 is the year I get my finances in order.” And yet… here we are. Day one, and I’ve nearly maxed out my Klarna account. Bravo, me! 👏🙈
Resin Earrings and Temu Trouble
So, what was the excuse this time? Oh, nothing big—just that I’ve recently discovered a life-altering new hobby. I made my very first resin earrings (thanks to a kit from my stepdaughter), and now I’m obsessed. Like, “scrolling Temu for hours” obsessed. It started innocently enough—just looking for supplies—but somewhere along the way, my cart exploded. And before I could stop myself, the order was placed. Whoops. 😅
Turkey, Snow, and No Driving Needed
For New Year’s Eve, we joined our neighbors for a celebration that was equal parts cozy and delicious. Honestly, the best part? No need to drive—we just strolled home afterward. Perfect. The food was amazing, and I have to say, the turkey was a revelation. It wasn’t dry! I know, I know—wild concept. It brought back all those childhood memories of painfully dry turkey dinners. Not this time, though. Bravo to our hosts! 🦃✨
The kids had a blast playing outside in the snow, and one of the funniest moments of the night was when our neighbor’s daughter ran inside and pressed her face against the kitchen window. Her mom grabbed her phone to snap a picture, and it was like something out of a Hallmark movie. Just one of those sweet, unplanned moments that makes you smile.

The Lazy Start to 2025
New Year’s Day? Gloriously lazy. We all slept in (a rarity in this house!) before heading over to my mother-in-law’s for brunch. We ended up chatting and snacking until late afternoon, which is exactly the kind of energy I want to bring into this new year. No stress, no rush—just good company and good food.
Wait… My Daughter Is 27?!
Now, let’s talk about time flying. My daughter turns 27 in just a few days. Twenty-seven! How did that happen? I swear, it feels like just yesterday she was running around in pigtails, and now she’s a full-blown adult. It’s a little surreal, honestly. Like, how am I old enough to have a grown-up child? Didn’t I just turn 27 myself? Apparently not.
It’s funny, though. Life has a way of sneaking up on you. One minute, you’re young and invincible; the next, your knees are cracking every time you stand up, and your body’s giving you subtle hints that it’s on its own schedule now. You can try to fool time with a good skincare routine, but trust me—your joints will keep you humble. 😂
2025: The Year of Movement (and Maybe Less Klarna)
I’m determined to make 2025 a year of change. First on the list? Exercise. Not because I’m super motivated, mind you—this is pure survival. My body’s already sending me warning signs, and I’d like to keep it functioning for a good while longer, thank you very much. Plus, I have no plans of being 60 and relying on a walker. Nope, not happening. 💪
As for Klarna? Let’s just say I’ll try to behave… starting tomorrow. Maybe. 🙃
So here I am, cozy in bed, feeling a little tired but mostly excited for what’s ahead. Life isn’t perfect, but it’s full of small, messy, beautiful moments that make it all worthwhile.
How did you ring in the new year? Let me know in the comments—and please tell me I’m not the only one who started 2025 with an overstuffed online cart. 🙈✨
